Insulation has been an integral part of all energy and industrial plants for many years. Its primary goal in industrial and energy plants is to reduce heat loss and to prevent burns in people who work with and use these plants. In recent years, thermal insulation has become an integral part of all construction activities. The role of insulation in the modern world is becoming invaluable. Increasingly expensive and limited amounts of energy have led to thermal insulation becoming an increasingly important factor in both industry and energetics, as well as in the construction of residential and commercial buildings. In order to meet today’s regulations and build in accordance with modern energy efficiency guidelines, all external structures need to be thermally protected.
The company ĐĐ Montaža Izolak d.o.o. has been involved for many years in the design, manufacture, delivery, and installation of thermal insulation in the industrial and energy sectors, but also in the field of construction.
When performing thermal insulation in industrial and energy plants, we perform all works according to the following standards:
- VDI 2055 “Heat and cold protection for industrial and building services systems” – March 1982
- VDI 2055 Entwurf “Heat and cold protection for industrial and building services systems” – September 1992
- AGI Q 132 “Mineral wool as an insulating material for industrial systems” – May 1995
- DIN 18421 – Thermal insulation works on technical plants
- DIN 18165 – Fibrous insulating materials for civil engineering
- DIN 4140 – Insulation of technical plants.
Depending on the investor’s request, or depending on the purpose of insulation (hot or cold insulation), we use the following insulation materials:
- Mineral wool
- Glass wool
- Ceramic wool
- Foam glass
- Various types of flexible materials with a closed cell structure that prevent the diffusion of water vapour
In our long tradition dating back to 1921, when we were an integral part of the then group Đuro Đaković to the present day when we operate as ĐĐ Montaža Izolak d.o.o., the most important area of our work has been the design, delivery, and installation of all types of refractory linings or chamotting materials.
Design, delivery, installation, and dismantling of refractory linings are performed during:
- Overhaul works
Our most significant references are in the field of:
- Thermal power plants (boiler fireclay)
- Cement plants (furnace wall, clinker cooler, heat exchanger, multi cyclones, etc.)
- Refineries (wall of vacuum furnaces and associated channels, wall of regenerator and air distributor (grate) of regenerator)
Materials from both foreign and domestic markets are used in the delivery and installation of refractory linings. Boiler wall materials must be resistant to high temperatures, depending on the installation site and to temperatures exceeding 1000°C. Boiler wall materials must be selected and dimensioned in such a way as to prevent heat transfer to the highest extent possible, thus lowering the temperature and protecting the mechanical parts of the boiler from the effects of high temperatures caused by combustion products.
When building walls, we use different types of materials such as:
- Fireclay bricks
- Insulating brick
- Refractory concrete
- Insulating concrete
Fireproofing or fire protection is used to prevent the spread of fire. It slows down the heating of the substrate, preventing it from reaching critical deformation temperatures of construction materials that can endanger the load-bearing capacity.
Fireproofing sustains the stability of the structure and thus provides additional time for evacuation and firefighting. Fireproofing design is performed on basis of the category of fire, the resistance class, and the shape and type of substrate that needs to be protected.

One of the areas of work of the company ĐĐ Montaža Izolak d.o.o. is the delivery and installation of waterproofing. Waterproofing tapes such as Protan A/S and BAUDER are used as waterproofing material.
ĐĐ Montaža Izolak d.o.o. started with the delivery and installation of waterproofing tapes in late 2002 and we have so far successfully installed thousands of squares. The waterproofing tape we use is quick to prepare and easy to apply.
The waterproofing tape we use can withstand extreme temperatures, as well as the effects of accumulated water and strong sun, and has a long service life of over 25 years.
No solvents or adhesives are used when installing the waterproofing tape and its surface is treated to be coarse, hence, to prevent skidding. The tape is self-extinguishing and protects buildings from fire from the roof. The waterproofing tapes that we use are not only a very effective waterproofing system; by using colours and profiles, the roof, too, can have a quality and beautiful look.
The materials we apply can be used both on new projects and on renovation projects, both in the public and private sectors. They are suitable for most roof shapes: flat, sloping or rounded.
This coating contains three basic components, which together form a strong and homogeneous material:
- Flexible PVC surface layer in different colours with a coarse, non-skid surface
- Knitted polyester fibre core
- Bottom PVC layer with black coating
The waterproofing coatings we utilise have been in use for over 25 years in the harsh climate conditions of Scandinavia. Over 24 million square meters of roofing, manufactured by Protan, have been installed and it has been proven that roofs with Protan cladding have longer durability than other, classic roofs. The minimum service life which is expected from the cladding we use is 25 years, and we give a 10-year warranty on the installed roofs. The use of lighter colours allows reducing surface temperatures, and therefore, can have a beneficial effect on the lifespan of the product.
Sound has become one of the significant polluters of living space and there have been increasing demands for sound insulation (ANTI-NOISE PROTECTION) and, consequently, increasing demands on the market for installation of sound panels.
Therefore, we have directed a significant part of our resources towards solving this problem, using the knowledge we have gained in our rich practice.

Delivery and installation of all types of roof and wall claddings
Cladding is certainly one of the important areas of work of our company. As part of the delivery, installation, and anti-corrosion protection of steel structures of all types of halls, we deliver and install all types of roof and wall claddings. When performing this type of work, we use the following coatings:
- Single trapezoidal sheet metal of all types of profiles and colours according to the request of the Client,
- Sandwich panels with different types of fillings (such as mineral wool, styrofoam, polyurethane), also in all shades and according to the request of the Client.
We perform cladding works on all types of halls, business centres, cement plants (reloading nodes, bridges, filters, cement silos), thermal power plants, etc.
For the needs of our clients, we have at our disposal about 30,000 m2 of scaffolding type Alfix module multi and Layher Allround scaffolding. We provide a complete service of scaffolding, which includes: organization, assembly, and disassembly. At the same time, the safety and protection of our employees are our highest priority. For this reason, we are constantly enhancing the system of prevention of illness and injuries at work, training and awareness of the importance of the quality of safety at work. Through regular audits and hazard assessment and the measures that are undertaken to keep hazards to a minimum, the company shows a high degree of concern for the protection of its employees in their respective workplaces.

Another area of work of the company ĐĐ Montaža Izolak d.o.o. is performing corrosion protection works on bridges, steel structures, industrial equipment, pipelines, canals, etc. as well as tank cleaning works.
During chemical and mechanical cleaning of tanks, we remove unwanted deposits on plants, equipment, and tanks that had occurred during their production or during their use, and we remove previous anti-corrosion coatings that protect the surfaces of equipment, plants, and tanks from unwanted chemical influences during their operation.
The scope of works performed by our company encompasses:
- Pumping and purifying the remaining fuel from tanks
- Cleaning the tanks from the rest of the fuel to a level of cleanliness suitable for locksmith welding
- Obtaining a certificate from an authorized institution that the explosiveness conditions have been met.
Execution of corrosion protection works which include:
- Sandblasting to the degree of purity stipulated by technology
- Application of coatings that are also stipulated by technology
In today’s industry, prevention is far more important than the speed of troubleshooting once a defect occurs on expensive and vital system equipment. For this purpose, we are able to deliver a thermal imaging service with a high-precision portable Fluke thermal imaging camera.
The Fluke Ti R20 thermographic camera we use is a modern portable device for thermal imaging (thermography). By measuring with this instrument, we are able to obtain instantaneous and accurate thermographic records with radiometric readings of objects. This camera is especially designed for measurements in industry, and can give clear thermographic images with precise temperature measurements of up to 350°C.
Once the temperature differences on the plant, equipment, power lines, etc. are located, it is possible to repair the damage. In this way, “hot spots” and “thermal bridges” are identified and the problem is resolved. After having performed measurement, we prepare a precise report with suggestions on urgent and preventive measures that need to be undertaken.
